The evolution of the automobile

In this article we will look at whether memes really are replicators that are subject to evolution.  We will use, as our example, the humble automobile and demonstrate cases of accidental and directed evolution and look at how selection pressures have changed, and in turn changed the phenotype of the vehicle.
